The Deets

The wedding is in a rustic villa about 45-50 minutes from Barcelona. There is a train that connects the two areas or you can drive. So you have a few options:

1. Make Barcelona your home base

2. Make Sitges your home base (nearest town to the villa with lots of hotel options)

3. Make both your home bases -- this is what we are doing!

We'll be in Barcelona the week leading up to the wedding, then we are staying at the wedding villa Oct 3-7th (Masia Mas Santo).

See the map below:

What to do and where to stay?

BARCELONA

One of Europe's top destinations and an enchanting seaside city with boundless culture, fabled architecture and a world-class drinking and dining scene.

Where to Stay in Barcelona?

Barcelona is a very Airbnb-friendly city. Otherwise, for a more conventional hotel, I'd recommend looking in Expedia. If you find a hotel you like in Expedia, you have the option to 'Bundle' your hotel and airfare and save a good amount of money.

If you want to be central and within walking distance to most things, we recommend you stay around these popular areas:

  • Gothic Quarter (old town with the famous Las Ramblas)
  • El Born (old town)
  • Eixample around Passeig de Gracia

See the neighborhoods in map below:

Here are some hotel options::

Arc la Rambla

Once we book our Barcelona stay (most likely an Airbnb), we'll post the location here. We will most likely stay in one of the three neighborhoods mentioned above.

SITGES

Sitges has been a resort town since the 19th century with an array of galleries, museums and a popular film festival which will be going on while we are there.

Where to Stay in Sitges?

Sitges is a slower-paced resort town nestled between the Mediterranean and the Penedès wine region where they specialize in sparkling Cava.

We have reserved rooms for our guests in two hotels which are about a 10-15 minute drive from the wedding villa. There are plenty of galleries, restaurants and the beachfront among other things to do within walking distance to these hotels.

Hotels:

ME Sitges Terramar:  121 €/night (after 10% tax) which is around $139 USD/nt .  We booked a block of AURA Rooms with free cancellation from Oct 3rd-7th, so we could lock in the rate. Room supply is limited at this rate.

How to book:  We made actual reservations at these hotels with free cancellations to lock in the rate - they did not offer wedding blocks at competitive rates. So, in order to book a room, please email Fernanda (fvergara03@gmail.com) letting her know what hotel, dates and # of rooms you need. Then she will transfer those rooms over to you.. Payments will be made directly to the hotel at time of check-in.

Of course, if you find better rates at these hotels, an airbnb or another hotel, go for it and book it on your own!

What to do in Barcelona?

Definitely give yourself at least 3 days to explore Barcelona. We will most likely be in Barcelona from September 29th-Oct 3rd.
